1. Environmental Policy Statement

Parley Meadows Pet Cremations operates a licensed pet cremation facility at Bounds Farm, BH23

6BB under Environmental Permit U1597872/INC issued by the Environment Agency. We are fully

committed to protecting the environment, preventing pollution and complying with all applicable

environmental legislation, including the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations

2016, the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the Animal By-Products (Enforcement) (England)

Regulations 2013.

2. Permit & Legal Compliance

All operations are carried out in strict accordance with Environmental Permit U1597872/INC. The

permit is displayed onsite at all times. No changes to process, equipment, fuel type or throughput

are made without written approval from the Environment Agency. Any breakdown affecting

emissions or any environmental incident is recorded and reported to the Environment Agency

where required.

3. Cremator & Emissions Control

Only approved cremation equipment listed in the permit is used. Secondary chamber temperatures

and residence times are maintained at permit-specified levels. No visible smoke, persistent fume or

offensive odour is permitted beyond the site boundary. All equipment is maintained in accordance

with manufacturer instructions and permit requirements, with full operational and maintenance

record keeping.

4. Animal By-Products (ABP) Control

All animal remains are classified as Category 1 Animal By-Products. Remains are stored in sealed,

labelled containers within temperature-controlled refrigeration. All ABP movements are fully

recorded and retained for a minimum of two years.

5. Waste & Ash Management

Ashes are either returned to the pet owner or disposed of with informed written consent.

Combustion residues, personal protective equipment, filters and metals are removed from site

using licensed waste carriers only. Waste Transfer Notes are retained for a minimum of two years.

6. Odour, Noise & Nuisance Control

All animal remains are processed promptly to prevent decomposition odours. Refrigerated and

sealed storage is maintained at all times. Operating hours and vehicle movements are controlled to

minimise disturbance to neighbouring land and properties.

7. Water Protection & Spill Response

No contaminated liquids are discharged from the site to surface water, groundwater or sewer. Spill

kits are maintained in all identified risk areas and used immediately if required. All spills are

recorded and reported to the Environment Agency where required.

8. Training, Incidents & Continuous Improvement

All staff receive environmental awareness, ABP handling and emergency response training. All

incidents and complaints are logged, investigated and corrective action implemented. This policy is

reviewed annually as part of our commitment to continual environmental improvement.
